Billing Policy for International Calls
International calls are calls to any location outside of South Africa. All international calls start with the international access code of 09. This is followed by the country code, the area code within the country and finally the destination subscriber number.

International calls are currently routed via Telkom and are billed according to the rate specific to the destination country. Calls are billed per second subject to a minimum charge of 99c. The per second rate varies from 2.77 c/s for Swaziland to as much as 55.2 c/s for East Timor. The rate table below is merely a small sample of the rate for some common countries.

Standard and Callmore Times

Telkom has a Global Standard Time Rate for the weekday hours between 08:00 and 20:00 and a reduced Global Off-Peak Time Rate for weekends and weekdays between 20:00 and 08:00.

Rates

The rates that Telkom charges varies considerably by destination country and is regularly changed.

All calls are subject to a minimum charge.
